Area of the Ktunaxa
The Ktunaxa lived in the region of the plateau. The Ktunaxa live in the SE area of British Columbia. They were forced there after being driven over the mountains by the Blackfoot in 1750. The Plateau was a very diverse and sometimes a difficult environment to live in. The south of the Plateau was a semi-desert, with sagebrush, rattlesnakes, and cactus. A lot like any desert in the United States. The north end of the Plateau was filled with trees and forests. The north of the Plateau is full of wildlife such as moose and deer. Between the north and the south of the Plateau, there are rushing rivers and waterfalls. Salmon was very common around here.
